Holding the Tarot
A Three-Level Tarot Apprenticeship
You turn over a card and look at it.
And sometimes, you have no idea what to do with what you see.
You remember something you've read about the card or reach for the guidebook. Something in the image catches your attention, but you don't know what to make of it.
Then, every once in a while, something connects.
You notice a detail you hadn't seen before. One card seems to answer another. Something in the spread begins to make sense.
And suddenly, the cards aren't just images on the table anymore.
They're saying something.
Holding the Tarot begins there.
Learning to Read Takes Time
Tarot is a language, and fluency doesn't come from learning everything at once.
It develops through practice. You spend time with the cards, try things, get confused, make connections — and come back again.
Holding the Tarot unfolds through three levels, each a three-month journey.
We begin with the foundations, gradually deepen our understanding of the cards and their relationships, and eventually bring everything together in the practice of reading.
Each level builds on the one before it, with time to study, practice, and allow what you're learning to settle.
The goal isn't to memorize more Tarot.
It's to be able to read.
What We Will
Work With
Holding the Tarot unfolds through three progressive levels, each a three-month journey.
Level 1 — Foundations
We begin with the structure of the Tarot: how the Major and Minor Arcana are organized, and how numbers and elements create patterns across the deck. We explore the imagery and symbols of the cards and begin developing our own relationship with them.
Level 2 — Deepening
We move further into the cards themselves, exploring the Court Cards, the layers of meaning within the imagery, and what changes when cards appear together and begin to form relationships.
Level 3 — Integration
Here we bring everything together, working with increasingly complex readings, exploring different ways of interpreting the cards, and developing the confidence to hold readings for others.
And throughout all three levels, we read.
For ourselves. For each other. With questions and without them. We look at what we see, where we get stuck, what we might be projecting onto the cards, and what happens when we stay curious a little longer.
Because learning the Tarot doesn't happen before you start reading.
You learn Tarot by reading Tarot.
How the Apprenticeship Works
3 Months per Level
Time to learn, practice, integrate, and build a relationship with the cards without rushing.
Every Wednesday
Tarot has a regular place in your week, alternating between live sessions with me and practice with your peer pod.
Teaching & Practice
Our live sessions bring the two together. We learn something, work with it, read, question, experiment, and learn from what happens.
Peer Pods
On the alternate weeks, you'll meet with your pod to work with assignments, practice together, and continue exploring what we're learning.
Is This for You?
You may already know some of the cards. You may still reach for the guidebook every time you turn one over.
Either way, you're drawn to Tarot because you sense there is more there than a set of meanings to memorize.
You want to understand what you're looking at. To recognize patterns, work with symbols, see how the cards connect, and become more confident in your own reading.
You don't need to arrive as an experienced reader. But you do need to be curious, willing to spend time with the cards, and open to looking at what you bring to a reading as well as what the cards are showing you.
This isn't a quick way to master Tarot.
It's a place to build a relationship with the cards that can deepen over time.
Time & Participation
Each level of Holding the Tarot asks for steady participation over three months. You don't need to organize your life around the Tarot, but you do need to make room for it.
WEDNESDAYS · EVERY WEEK
4:00–6:00 PM Pacific · 7:00–9:00 PM Eastern
BEGINNING FEBRUARY 2027
Live sessions and peer pods alternate from week to week. You'll also need some time between Wednesdays to spend with the cards and work with your practice.
Joining the Cohort
The first Holding the Tarot cohort begins with Level 1 in February 2027.
Holding the Tarot is a progressive journey, beginning with Level 1 and continuing through Levels 2 and 3.
Each three-month level is $850 USD.

Good to Know

No. You can come to Holding the Tarot as a beginner or with years of experience.
What matters is your willingness to look closely, practice, question what you think you know, and develop your own relationship with the cards.

Yes. You'll need a Rider-Waite-Smith deck, which we'll use as a shared reference throughout the apprenticeship, as well as a deck you genuinely connect with.
They can be the same deck if Rider-Waite-Smith is the one you love.

Not at all. Holding the Tarot is for learning to read the cards deeply, whether you eventually read for others, already do, or simply want Tarot to become part of your own practice.

Wednesdays are our day together throughout each level.
Two Wednesdays each month we meet live as a full group for teaching, exploration and practice.
On the Wednesdays in between, you’ll meet with your peer pod to work with the material and assignments together.

Live sessions will be recorded and available in our shared participant space throughout the apprenticeship and for three months after our final session.
Recordings can't replace being in the room together, so I encourage you to join live whenever you can.

There will be things to explore and practice between our live sessions, both on your own and with your peer pod.
This isn't about completing a certain number of hours each week, but you do need enough space in your life to stay in relationship with the cards throughout the nine months.

Each three month level of the apprenticeship is $850 USD, paid through Wise.
Your place is confirmed once payment is received.

Your payment secures your place in the cohort and is non-refundable.
If you're unable to participate and someone else is able to take your place, a transfer may be possible with my prior agreement. The new participant would need to go through the application process.
