The Tarot Is a Language
A Tarot card doesn't have one fixed meaning.
Like words in a language, the cards take on meaning through context and relationship. The same card can speak very differently depending on where it appears, what surrounds it, and what is happening in the image.
What matters isn't finding the “right” meaning of a card, but understanding what it is saying here.
The Cards Speak to Each Other
A Tarot spread is more than a collection of separate cards.
A number repeats. Figures turn toward or away from one another. An image in one card echoes something in another.
Connections begin to appear.
And that is where a reading begins to tell a story.

Sometimes a small detail in an image changes everything. Where a figure is looking. What they're holding. Something happening discretetly in the background.

This is symbolic vision: learning to notice what is there and allowing meaning to emerge from what you see.

Trusting What You See
Tarot doesn't ask us to hand our authority over to the cards.
A reading can bring something into focus that we hadn't recognized before — and sometimes, something we would rather not see.
The cards don't make our decisions for us. But working with them asks for a willingness to look honestly at what they bring up, even when it challenges the story we have been telling ourselves.
The cards can't do the reflecting for us. They can only give us something to reflect on.
